Zephyr Cove Resort, which is located 50 miles north of Heavenly and the rest of downtown South Tahoe, is offering small lakeside cabins for as little as $20 person. For double capacity, the rate is $25/ person, but, get two more people to tag along, and the rate drops to $20/ person.

Cabin types include a one-bedroom, a studio with kitchen and a studio without kitchen. And, even better, you get a free daily shuttle to and from Heavenly. The bus leaves the lodge at 8:30am and brings skiers back at 4:15pm.
