I've passed along info on the top places to ski in the world, but skiing and snowboarding are two different things, and what may be a good ski park may not necessarily be a good snowboarding park. So snowboarders, here's your chance to read up on the top places to snowboard in the U.S. And, if you have any other suggestions, please do share.

1. Whistler- Blackcomb, B.C., Canada. Featuring a sweet mile-high vertical drop, great beginner slopes and now the distinction of being the home to the 2010 Winter Olmpics, there is something for everything here.

2. Big Sky, Montana. This resort is BIG, consisting of two mountains - Lone Mountain and Andesite Mountain. About an hour from Bozeman, Big Sky has hundreds of acres of expert terrain, and plenty of wide, groomed trails down both sides.

3. Mammoth Mountain, California. Located at the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevadas, Mammoth is a top resort for snowboarders. The gondola at the bottom stops at 11,000 ft., and there are tons of trails for beginners, intermediates and pros.

4. Vail, Colorado. Several terrain parks, plus a super-pipe with 18' walls and more snow than most other resorts, earns Vail a spot on this list. In addition, Vail also boasts one of the finest snowboarding schools.

5. Banff (Alberta) Resort, Canada. World-renowned for its spectacular scenery, amazing rides and inexpensive pricing.
